How To Play

  • Start with CVC Words. (Consonant-Vowel-Consonant).
  • Ask the child to find the correct wooden letter block and place them in the right order.
  • Say each letter sound aloud.

c/a/t -cat

Beginning Consonant Blends :

  • Use beginning blend words like bl, cr, tr, gr etc.
  • Ask the child to form words starting with the blend. (eg., bl+ock=block)
  • Let them hear how two consonants work together at the beginning of the word.

Final Consonant Blends :

  • Use final blend words like nt, ck, rk, st, sp, etc.,
  • Form words where the final blends is used. (eg., be+st = best)
  • Practice saying the full word and repeating it.

Mix and match to make new words and sound them out. Use as a solo activity or with a parent/teacher guiding.
